This excellent course provides all officers (and family members!) keen and critically important insight into the stress, frustration, bottled-up anger and sometimes lack of concern that many professionals will encounter with some ending up in a personal tragedy. Don’t let this be you. This course can help!
Law enforcement is an exciting and challenging career. It has a wide appeal and draws people from all walks of life, yet few people stop to think about why they are getting into this field. They may have leaned that police officers do “exciting things,” “save lives,” and “arrest bad guys.” The media will portray police officers as bigger than life and or today often in extreme edited cell phone videos, but not realistic, ways. This extreme portrayal is misleading to anyone considering a police career.
In real world of policing, cases are not usually solved in an hour and the forensic evidence usually does not work that well. This message is misleading for new officers and can leave them feeling incredibly frustrated with their own lack of success. Few people come into police work with an accurate idea of what the profession involves and its toll on one’s mental, physical and personal life.
